Rosemary Blog
Episode Three

Warning This Section Does Contain Spoilers From Cyphers For Episode Three

To see how to open this section of the blog please visit here.

The Rosemary blog has two cyphers within it after clicking on either the words "running" or "key". The first is the string of letters on the page:

ALPBVSXJOOSJUNAYMYMURXCBENLRSWC

Using a vigenere cypher square like the one below we can solve this cypher:

Using the sentence in Isabella's Scanned Diary Pages of "The moon was a big white hole in the sky."

First we will find the "T" on the row on the square for the "T" in the "The" in Isabella's sentence. Then we will scan down the column until we reach the "A" from the cypher sentence. We will see that this corresponds on row "H". So the first letter in our plaintext sentence is "H"

Next we will find the letter "H" on the top row of the square for the "H" in "THE" in Isabella's sentence. Then we will scan down the column until we reach the "L" from the cypher text in the Rosemary blog and see that it intersects on the row of "E". So the second letter in our plaintext is "E".

We continue this method for the entire message until we have a plaintext of:

Help He knows I'm here Find my true name

The second cypher on the Rosemary blog is another Semaphore Flag Signalling System cypher.

Using the flag signalling system we decrypt this to mean:

CKRA
