Letter From Museum Director
Warning This Section Does Contain Spoilers
In this letter from the Director of the Cooper Heritage Museum, Cecilia Dandridge, she is letting us know that this month we will be exploring Foxfire Cave. She also sent us an archaeological article from 1960 written by Margaret Kroeger and Ruth Leacock who examine the potential meaning behind the pictograms and petroglyphs in the cave.
*Note - A pictogram is a picture or symbol that represents another word or phrase. A petroglyph is a rock carving, especially a prehistoric one. Images are created by removing part of a rock surface by incising, picking, carving, or abrading, as a form of rock art or communication.
For our next assignment we must successfully determine the ancient origins of symbols from the archives.
